As part of the ongoing initiative to strengthen water quality management and promote environmental conservation, a field inspection and location identification for the Kelani River Monitoring Project was successfully conducted on 15th and 16th May 2025.
This collaborative visit brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from:
- China-Sri Lanka Joint Center for Education and Research (CSL CER), University of Ruhuna
- Central Environmental Authority (CEA)
- Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC
- Industrial Technology Institute (ITI)
The fieldwork focused on identifying critical sampling locations and assessing current environmental conditions along various sections of the Kelani River - a waterway vital to the country's economy, ecology, and public health.
