As part of the 10th Anniversary Celebrations of the China-Sri Lanka Joint Center for Education and Research (CSL CER) and the 10th China-Sri Lanka Joint Workshop on “Climate Change and Sustainable Marine Development”, CSL CER successfully hosted the Symposium on the ‘Mechanism of Ocean-Atmosphere Disasters in the Indian Ocean and Disaster Prevention and Mitigation’ on 26th October 2025 at the CSL CER premises, University of Ruhuna, Matara, Sri Lanka.
The forum provided an engaging platform for emerging scholars, postgraduate students, and early-career researchers to present their work, exchange ideas, and interact with peers and senior scientists. Participants shared insights on climate change, oceanography, and sustainable marine development, contributing to dynamic discussions and fostering cross-border collaboration.
This event underscores CSL CER’s commitment to capacity building, academic collaboration, and the nurturing of the next generation of researchers in Sri Lanka, China, and beyond.
