At the Ocean Science and Development Parallel Forum held on March 26, 2026, in Beijing, the China–Sri Lanka Joint Center for Education and Research (CSL-CER) highlighted its potential and strategic vision for advancing future collaboration in ocean science and sustainable development. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna addressed the forum on behalf of CSL-CER, emphasizing the importance of strengthened China–Sri Lanka scientific cooperation and the role of the Center in advancing joint research and innovation. Bringing together leading global experts under the UN Ocean Decade framework, the forum served as a dynamic platform to explore innovative approaches to ocean governance, scientific advancement, and sustainable blue growth. This engagement further reinforces the Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Ruhuna and the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology. Through CSL-CER, the partnership continues to grow through annual engagements, promoting joint research, academic exchange, and capacity building in marine science. CSL-CER remains committed to fostering impactful international collaboration and contributing to a shared, sustainable future for our oceans.
